Since 1992 Splats have been creating fun and inspiring classes for all ages and abilities.
Splats was started in 1993 by Steve Richards Bed Hons P.E. and Mike Redwood, an ASAD trained theatre director, as a childrens circus and theatre company. Originally performing street shows and teaching circus skills in the north London schools. Soon they were asked by the Home Office to develop projects across London using theatre and circus skills to address issues of self esteem and personal development.

The company grew and by the late 90's Splats teachers were covering the whole country using Splats training techniques. During this time Steve went onto train at ASAD as a theatre director. In the early noughties the company moved from street shows to stage shows and began touring theatres across the country from 200 to 2000 seater venues. These shows developed into Make a Play days a great way to promote theatre practice in schools. We believe that circus, film and theatre arts are great ways to explore ourselves and develop our capabilities.
Splats mission is simple; to break down apparently difficult tasks and show that by building them up again they are attainable; juggling is the perfect example of this. We carry this practice through to making a film, a play or magic.
